Just wondering which shield costs the most cos it's the rarest?

There are a couple: Eternal Shields, and Dragon Shields, I think.

A good eternal shield, gold, with a good inherent, NOT inscribable, is "rarer" than an inscribable dragon shield, I would guess.

Rarer than these, I don't know... my warrior gear knowledge is pretty thin.

If you ask me, the rarest shield is something like the Amber Aegis - no Zaishen chest for this shield, and it only drops as uninscribable in the Echovald Forest, and after playing for over two years I've yet to see a single one drop. (Edit: single gold one. I've had a couple purples.)

Good point, forgot about that one. The Outcast Shield is pretty darn rare, too.

You can spend a considerable amount of ectos on q7 max shields, even if the skin isn't "cool"

Dragon Shields?

Anything from factions that does not drop inscrip somewhere else. Mainly stufff from echovald+ low req old school stuff.

Magma's Shield + Echovald Shield. I think they're quite rare.

A echovald shield can reach 500e perfectly, depending on mods of course.

a gold, dual-modded echovald is damn rare....i did over 170 ferndale vanquishes for kurz faction and only saw 1 gold one drop (single-mod)...granted they only drop from mantis' in ferndale but there are plenty of those in >170 runs! I got 1 dual-modded amber aegis (q9 tac) out of a chest and managed to get 60k for it, but I think echovald would be worth much, much more.

I got only one there as well. I got my second one from a chest in Arborstone. Never got amber one though.

Edit: to the poster below: I got several gold plagueborns from chests in Pongmei Valley (also other rare skins there like wolfhammer or morningstar like looking axe) Try there.

i've been lookin for an ornate shield for about 3 years now T__T (anet: please add them to zchest)

but yes, i'd say the faction shields would be the most rare, outcast, plagueborn, ornate, echovald, etc

I fed it to Bodrus in LA after not being able to sell it.
R13 +23 health -5 phys damage 16% chance. :/

Echovald imo, although if this 'dragon shield' exists then that is rarest lol as ive never seen or heard of it.

quite interesting question...lets say that there are shields with q8str -2st/+30hpNON-INSC),i guess the order that ppl will pay the most for one of these would be:

1. magmas shield - no matter what,even if there are insc versions of these,there is just one known shield with these stats in game,and prolly it wont ever be for sale - my guess 3000-3500e+ ,q8 -2/45st is ~2000e

2. echovald shield - just q9 with those stats can fletch quite high amount,there is just one known in game with q8(and stats stated above) - that one was was paid 2500-3000e last time

3.guardian of the hunt - i have never seen any q8 with any matched max stats, it has extremly rare drop rate,just like every other item from echovald forest...i guess it can go 2000e+ at least

4. amber aegis - its very rare,and quite wanted,i dont remember that i saw any with those stats q8 or anything close to it(correct me if im wrong), estimate ~2000e

5. ornate shield-rare,wanted....~1500e+

others are just very rare and perfect versions costs 1000e+ (i dont say that they exist,its only if they WOULD exist,price on some of those is just rough estimate on their q8 -5/30 versions)

gothic defender
diamond aegis
bladed shield
eternal shield

correct me if i forgot some important skin...

and about q7 shields,well....there are no some newer skins with any perfect mods that i could give some estimate.the only skin rly worth mentioning was q7 diamond aegis,but it stats were nothing close to perfect. but the first perfect q7 shield that comes to my mind is ornate buckler q7tac -2st/+30hp which is something like 500e

For the places where it drops im gonna go with those Factions shield from Kurz or Lux side. Those are Amber Aegis , Echovald Shield , Gothic Defenders , Embossed Aegis and Outcast Shields ( maybe there are more ). Not dropping on Zchest and elite missions like Deep and Urgoz really counts for me .
